On Monday, October 7, Acting Mayor Eraño Timbang of Bamban, Tarlac, officially filed his Certificate of Candidacy for mayor under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas. He was joined by his running mate, Joseph Gomez, along with a diverse slate of councilor candidates, including Teejay Nucum Sibal, Ferdinand Siba, Marino Rafael Morales III, Mabel Cojuangco, Ma. Lourdes Marimla, Virgilio Sanchez, Jackson Pineda, and Michael Jaleco.
Timbang is set to complete his term as acting mayor in November, at which point he will be succeeded by suspended Vice Mayor Ding Anunciacion. Anunciacion, along with eight councilors, was suspended for approving a letter of no objection for a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) located behind the town’s municipal hall. Notably, Timbang was the only councilor who opposed the letter of no objection, highlighting his commitment to local governance. As the election approaches, Timbang aims to rally support and continue his vision for the community in his pursuit of the mayoral seat.
