The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has paved the 583-meter farm-to-market road in Concepcion, Tarlac.
Located in Barangay Caluluan, the newly concreted, five-meter-wide, two-lane road now offers a safer and more reliable connection to the main road.
DPWH Tarlac 2nd District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos highlighted that the road improvement will significantly benefit local farmers by improving travel efficiency, particularly for transporting rice and corn.
“Farmers, residents, and motorists often faced difficulties with the unpaved road, especially during heavy rainfall when the slippery conditions hindered the efficient transportation of agricultural products in the area,” Ramos said.
He also noted the installation of three sets of Reinforced Concrete Pipe Culverts to enhance irrigation and drainage, further supporting local farmers.
The P4.85-million project, funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act, was implemented in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
