Central Luzon’s Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) were recognized as top performers in the 2023 Search for the Best PESO, with several offices winning in multiple categories during the 24th National PESO Congress held at the KCC Convention Center in Zamboanga City. The event drew over 1,500 delegates from across the country.
DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, in his keynote address, highlighted the significance of innovation in public employment services to build a dynamic workforce, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision for a more inclusive and progressive Philippines.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office No. III received commendations for the high success rate of its PESO entries. Central Luzon claimed victories in four out of nine categories, with PESO Bataan winning the First-Class Province Category, and PESO Aurora taking the top spot in the Third to Fifth-Class Province Category. PESO Aurora, having won three consecutive times, was inducted into the Secretary’s Hall of Fame.
In the municipal categories, PESO Talavera, Nueva Ecija, won the First-Class Municipality award, while PESO Llanera, Nueva Ecija, won in the Fourth to Sixth-Class Municipality Category, also entering the Secretary’s Hall of Fame.
The congress also saw the signing of the PESOMAP Pledge of Commitment, reaffirming DOLE and PESOMAP Inc.’s dedication to improving public employment services and fostering collaboration in the labor market.
