Globe’s network is operational after Typhoon Leon traversed close to the country’s northeastern coast at its peak intensity, bringing heavy rains and powerful winds to extreme Northern Luzon.
As of Oct. 31, 2024, a total of five sites were down in two towns in Batanes due to power outages and transmission issues. The rest of the sites in Northern Luzon are up.
Globe has initiated efforts to restore the affected sites where ground conditions permit.
The company’s restoration work also continues in the few remaining sites downed by the impact of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, which hit Luzon and parts of Visayas last week.
As of this writing, 98.5% of sites are up in Southern Luzon and Bicol. Only a few remaining sites have yet to be restored in the following provinces due to persistent power failure and floods:
- Camarines Sur
- Catanduanes
- Quezon
- Romblon
As affected communities reel from the impact of the two weather systems, Globe calls on its customers to support relief efforts by donating their Globe Rewards points via the GlobeOne app. For more information on Globe’s disaster response and Globe Stores operations, follow GlobeICON on Facebook or visit the Globe website for the latest #StaySafePH advisories.
