The municipality of Hermosa achieved remarkable recognition at the Galing! Bataan Awards 2024, held on November 5 at the Bataan People’s Center. This event highlighted outstanding contributions by cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in fostering economic growth in Bataan.
Hermosa received two major awards, underscoring its commitment to business and community development. The municipality was honored as the Most Supportive Business Permit Licensing Office, reflecting its dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment. Additionally, the Hermosa Municipal Cooperative Development Council was awarded Best Performing Cooperative Development Council (3rd Place), with a plaque and a P5,000 cash prize in recognition of its efforts in supporting local cooperatives.
Further, the Balsik High School Teachers Multipurpose Cooperative was recognized among the Most Outstanding Business Cooperatives with Good Practice, winning a trophy and a P10,000 cash prize. Representing the municipality at the awards ceremony, Councilor Gelly Santos accepted the accolades along with Hermosa BPLO Marivic Fernandez and MCDO Josefina Bondoc.
Hermosa’s thriving local enterprises were also acknowledged as nominees across several categories. In the Food Category (Micro), Marjorie D. Samaniego of Cesmar Enterprise was nominated. In the Services/Retail/Trade/Agri-Based (Micro) category, Chona A. Quijon of Snips and Clips Salon & Spa, and Rufino D. Santos Jr. of Revelation Fabrication, represented the town.
