Commuters can now enjoy faster and more comfortable travel with the inauguration of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project Phase 1 on November 15, 2024.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the opening ceremony, emphasizing the project’s significance in enhancing connectivity. “This is the Philippines we strive for, a nation that moves forward as one,” the President said, highlighting the transformative impact of reliable transportation on inclusivity and development.
Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in completing the project. “Travel from Baclaran to Sucat will now take just 14 minutes, a significant improvement for daily commuters. These rail projects are game-changers for our transportation system,” Bautista noted.
The newly opened five stations will begin operations on November 16, marking a major milestone in the modernization of the country’s transit network. President Marcos also urged the swift completion of the remaining three stations, which will extend the line to Bacoor, Cavite.
