The European Higher Education Fair 2024 concluded on 25 November 2024 with the participation of more than 2,000 students, professionals, and University officials and faculty from all over the Philippines.
The fair was organised by the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines and the Embassies and Cultural Institutes of European Union Member States on 22-23 November with online sessions on 25 November.
This year’s theme for the Fair was “Pathways to Excellence”, to highlight the diverse educational avenues in the European Union to equip Filipino students with the skills, knowledge, mind-set, and life-changing experiences needed to thrive in a fast-evolving and ever-more interconnected global landscape.
The fair counted with the participation of 77 higher education institutions and diplomatic missions from 14 EU Member States, namely Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Finland, and Sweden.
On-site seminars were hosted by the EU Member States’ Embassies and Cultural Institutes, where participants received answers to their questions on higher education systems, “student life” in the EU, research grants, and scholarship opportunities.
The language and cultural institutes of some EU Member States present in Manila (Alliance Francaise, Goethe-Institut Philippines, Instituto Cervantes, and Philippine-Italian Association catered to the members of the public interested in learning a foreign language.
This year’s Philippine Regional Hubs included University of Santo Tomas (Metro Manila), Wesleyan University (Luzon), and Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (Mindanao); and University Partners Ateneo de Manila University – European Studies Programme, De La Salle University, Enderun College, Holy Cross of Davao College, Lyceum Philippines University – Cavite, Mabalacat City College, University of the Cordilleras, and World Citi College.
The EHEF 2024 was also supported by professional organisations such as the Philippine Communication Society and European Studies Association of the Philippines.
