The Philippines’ automotive manufacturing capabilities took center stage during the final day of the 2024 Japan Automobile Standards Internationalization Center Public and Private (JASIC-PP) Forum. Delegates toured Hino Motors Philippines Inc.’s Calamba, Laguna facility to observe the production of light and heavy vehicles and gain insights into the country’s alignment with international manufacturing standards.
Chairman and Director Vicente T. Mills highlighted Hino’s commitment to quality commercial vehicle production using locally sourced materials. The tour showcased Hino’s end-to-end manufacturing process, advanced facilities, and stringent safety protocols.
The event also featured in-depth discussions on Hino’s diverse offerings, including trucks and public utility vehicles (PUVs), and their role in the country’s transport modernization.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Kazuhiro Tada emphasized regional collaboration to advance sustainable transportation.
