Businesses in Pampanga, particularly restaurants and hotels, are urged to be vigilant against a scam circulating this holiday season.
Mitch Otsuru-Park of Don Don Tei shared that a scammer posed as a customer and claimed to have accidentally overpaid his bill. The customer with Facebook account Christopher L. Mendoza ordered sushi trays amounting to P5,600 last December 8 and said he accidentally paid P6,600 via GCash. The account user sent a screenshot as proof of payment and asked Don Don Tei staff to send back the P1,000.
“Thankfully, we didn’t proceed without confirming the actual transaction in our accounts,” said Park.
