The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has streamlined its services in Central Luzon, moving almost all processes online to make transactions more efficient for applicants.
During the 28th episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Philippine Information Agency, PRC Regional Director Paul Aban emphasized that every transaction in the region begins with an online appointment, which is confirmed upon payment. After confirmation, applicants are asked to visit the office on their scheduled date.
“Almost everything is done online now. Your appointment will be confirmed once you’ve made the payment, and then you simply go to the office on your appointment date. The processing time for services like getting your license ID or notice of admission takes about five minutes,” he explained.
The PRC has also transitioned to digital payments, eliminating over-the-counter transactions in their office.
“We no longer accept over-the-counter payments because of our limited resources, and we’ll continue this process until we establish our regional office,” Aban added.
In terms of examinations, the PRC conducts board exams at public schools in the region. The commission has an agreement with the Department of Education, allowing it to use public school facilities for these exams.
The board exam for teachers consistently draws large numbers of applicants. In recent years, the region has seen as many as 9,000 examinees for this exam.
Despite the challenges, the PRC continues to show impressive results. For instance, the region’s passing rates have consistently outperformed the national passing rate. In 2023, Central Luzon achieved a passing rate of 53.01 percent, which is higher than the national rate of 50.79 percent, and produced 27 topnotchers.
As of October 16, 2024, the region’s passing rate stands at 56.00 percent, surpassing the national rate of 54.07 percent.
“We’re happy to report that many of the examinees here in Central Luzon pass their exams. We are strict, there’s no leakage or cheating. We stick to the policies of the commission. Also, we’re not just producing a large number of passers but quality passers,” Aban highlighted.
Since 2021, the region’s passing rate has been consistently higher than the national passing rate and the commission has also seen success in producing topnotchers.
“We’ve had many topnotchers, including those who ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in several of our exams. Central Luzon has truly become a center of excellence,” he noted.
These achievements reflect the region’s commitment to maintaining high standards in professional regulation, as well as the increasing success and quality of its examinees.
