Senatorial candidate Luis “Manong Chavit” Singson emphasized the importance of financial inclusion by pushing for every Filipino to have a bank account. In an ambush interview on December 14 at the Monarch Hotel in Calasiao, Pangasinan, Singson stressed that access to banking services can help Filipinos avoid overspending and build savings for a more secure future.
Singson, known for his philanthropic work, said financial literacy and access to basic banking are crucial for improving the lives of ordinary citizens. He believes a bank account for every Filipino is a step toward empowering individuals to manage their finances better and participate in the formal economy.
The senatorial hopeful added that fostering a culture of saving would also benefit the country’s overall economic stability. “It’s not just about money; it’s about giving every Filipino a chance for a brighter future,” Singson said, reiterating his call to make banking accessible to all. Singson will give 5800 pesos to 100 individuals starting on December 15 until February 11, 2025 before the campaign period thru VBANK PH.
