The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) have shut down the JinXin pyrolysis furnace in San Simon, Pampanga, following complaints from Minalin residents about air pollution. According to PG-ENRO officer Engr. Arthur Punsalan, the facility allegedly burned tires to produce oil as a by-product. The establishment was padlocked as the Pampanga Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) investigates the case. Mayor Philip Naguit, along with village chiefs from Sto. Domingo and Sta. Maria, raised the issue. The SP is prepared to file charges against the company to ensure accountability and protect public health.
