Baguio’s most successful homegrown pizza chain and a specialty cafe and restaurant are coming to Camp John Hay soon, after they signed a 15-year commercial lease agreement with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), signaling strong interest and vote of confidence not only from big investors but also from small- and medium-scale enterprises.

Following the successful recovery of the Camp John Hay property, BCDA on 08 January 2025 signed fresh contracts with Amare La Cucina for the lease of a 1,500-square-meter lot, and with Top Taste and Trading Inc. for the lease of an 800-square-meter property in Camp John Hay.

“This is really a vote of confidence from investors coming in after the change of management in Camp John Hay. We are happy and excited that more enterprises are wanting to set up business in Camp John Hay because of the trust they have for BCDA. Our vision for Camp John Hay is to provide enterprises of all sizes an environment where they can all thrive and empower the local community with more employment opportunities,” said BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Joshua M. Bingcang. “While we are setting up a positive climate for enterprises and the people, we also want to assure the local community that we will preserve and protect the forest watershed of Camp John Hay, as the remaining lung of the city.”

Aside from the fresh commercial lease contracts, BCDA has earlier signed its first long-term residential lease agreement with Metro Pacific Investment Corporation Director Victorico “Ricky” Vargas, highlighting the growing investor confidence in Camp John Hay. All these happened after the recent Supreme Court victory of the BCDA, which allowed the government-owned and -controlled corporation to recover the 247-hectare Camp John Hay property from CJH Development Corporation.
