City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The long-awaited rehabilitation and upgrading of the main road in Barangay San Jose here has officially started to provide relief for motorists and residents.
Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Board Member Ananias Canlas Jr., and Former Board Member Mylyn Pineda Cayabyab led the groundbreaking ceremony to signal the start of construction on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
The project was initiated following an appeal from the Barangay Captain to the Provincial Government, highlighting the inconvenience and safety hazards caused by the damaged and uneven road, particularly during the rainy season.
Governor Delta allocated a total budget of PHP 4.1 million to construct the 182-meter stretch of road into a durable concrete pathway. The upgrade will include raising the roadbed by 50 cm to ensure resilience against heavy rains and wear from heavy vehicles.
The rehabilitation has already begun and is expected to be completed within 45 calendar days.
Governor Delta emphasized that infrastructure projects like this play a vital role in fostering progress in the barangay, the city, and the entire province of Pampanga.
“This is not just about improving roads; it’s about paving the way for development and enhancing the lives of our people,” Governor Delta stated.
