CLARK FREEPORT, PHILIPPINES – U.S. Ambassador MaryKay Carlson visited Clark Veterans Cemetery, located within the former U.S.-run Clark Air Base, to pay tribute to American and Filipino service members interred there.
Once home to the U.S. 13th Air Force, Clark Air Base was the largest U.S. military installation outside the mainland before its closure in 1991, following the eruption of Mount Pinatubo. The site has since been transformed into the Clark Freeport Zone, a thriving economic hub with an international airport.
Carlson’s visit underscored the enduring ties between the United States and the Philippines.
