Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda provided financial assistance to 184 employees of Fontana Development Corp. (FDC) and Fontana Resort and Country Club, Inc. (FRCCI) after their operations were shut down on January 6, 2025.
The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) issued a cease-and-desist order (CDO) against the resort for failing to meet its financial and contractual obligations to the state-owned firm.
As initial aid, the provincial government distributed P2,000 in cash assistance and food packs to affected workers. Board Member Cherry Manalo and PSWD Officer Fe Manarang led the distribution on behalf of Governor Pineda.
According to CDC, more than 500 workers lost their jobs, including those employed in the resort and casino.
