Touching down at Siargao’s Sayak Airport after a smooth Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight from Clark, our group of 19 media representatives was eager to experience the island’s famed surf spots, pristine beaches, and laid-back island life. The familiarization tour, held from February 18 to 20, was organized by PAL in partnership with Guide to the Philippines, showcasing the seamless connectivity between Clark and Siargao via PR 2875/PR 2876.

Upon arrival, we were treated to a delightful welcome lunch at Lamari, a stylish restaurant offering a taste of Siargao’s culinary scene. Afterward, we checked into our accommodations at Bahandi Hotel and Caracoa Hotel, both conveniently located along General Luna’s tourism road, near the world-renowned Cloud 9 surf break. These hotels offer modern comforts with a tropical island vibe, making them perfect for both surfers and leisure travelers.

As PR 2876 departed Sayak Airport at 1:30 PM, we couldn’t help but reflect on what makes Siargao so special. Beyond its world-class surf spots and picturesque landscapes, it’s the warm hospitality of the locals and the island’s peaceful simplicity that truly captivate visitors.
