MANILA, Philippines – PLDT Inc. has completed the APRICOT submarine cable system branches in Baler, Aurora, and Digos City, Davao del Sur, further enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure. The project boosts PLDT’s data traffic capabilities, supporting the growing demand for high-speed connectivity and strengthening the Philippines’ position as a key player in global digital networks.



The APRICOT system, spanning 12,000 kilometers across Asia-Pacific, is designed to improve network resiliency and expand international data capacity. With these new landing points, the Philippines aims to become a major transit hub for international subsea cables and a prime destination for hyperscale data centers, reinforcing its role in the region’s digital economy.
