ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on March 17, 2025 has ordered increased police visibility throughout the city and the strict enforcement of 24/7 checkpoints at all entry points following two recent shooting incidents here.
The incidents, which took place on March 15, 2025, in Barangays Mining and Ninoy Aquino, left both victims hospitalized.
To support these intensified security measures, the city government has allocated P11 million annually for the allowances of Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) personnel. As of this writing, P500,000 in remaining funds will be used to cover fuel expenses for continuous police patrols.
Mayor Lazatin also emphasized that with the increase in police presence, business owners and residents can feel more secure and be encouraged to report crimes such as theft, robbery, and shooting incidents in their communities.
The city government, in coordination with the ACPO, continues to strengthen law enforcement efforts to ensure the safety and security of all Angeleños.
To further bolster security, Mayor Lazatin has also inaugurated the upgraded Command Center in February 2025, installing 210 additional high-tech security cameras in strategic locations. With a total of 375 cameras now operational across the city, this initiative ensures there are no more blind spots, reinforcing Angeles City’s commitment to public safety.
