AFP inspector general begins PAF assessment

PASAY CITY, Philippines – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has commenced its Annual General Inspection (AGI) of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), with Lieutenant General Augustine S. Malinit PAF, the AFP Inspector General, leading the assessment. The entrance briefing was held on March 26, 2025, at the PAF Headquarters in Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, highlighting the military’s commitment to operational excellence.

Before the briefing, Arrival Honors were rendered to Lieutenant General Malinit, underscoring the significance of the inspection. The AGI serves as a key audit mechanism to evaluate the PAF’s operational readiness, compliance with regulations, and overall effectiveness in ensuring national defense and security. The Office of the Inspector General (OTIG) plays a vital role in reinforcing standards within the Air Force through this annual evaluation.

During the event, the OTIG awarded the PAF with a Plaque of Excellence for its outstanding performance, efficiency, and readiness throughout 2024. The recognition reflects the dedication of PAF personnel in maintaining a capable and highly operational Air Force, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to service and national security.
