AC pay parking abolished

There will be no more pay parking in Angeles City.

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has issued Executive Order No. 26 abolishing the “On Street Pay Parking Project” amid mounting complaints. Mayor Lazatin has also ordered the immediate implementation of strict parallel parking for motor vehicles in Angeles City.

Executive Order No. 26 abolished the Memorandum of Agreement signed by the previous administration with Electronic Way-System and Professional Services, Incorporated (EWPSI) saying it was a violation of the provisions of the Local Government Code.

Lazatin also wanted to ensure that the parked motor vehicles will not obstruct the flow of traffic and parallel parking for all motor vehicles must be strictly implemented.

The Angeles City Council on February 18, 2018 approved Resolution No. 7952 authorizing the previous administration to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the EWPSI, which implemented the “On Street Pay Parking Project.”
