The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) recently met with startups, founders, and representatives from the academe and government during the 2nd Bataan Startup Day held on November 27-28, 2025 at the Bataan Tourism Center Pavilion.

This engagement forms part of the agency’s exploration of potential investments and innovation opportunities within the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB). The discussions centered on new technologies, business models, and industries that can strengthen the Freeport’s economic ecosystem, including the eligibility of startups to register and access AFAB incentives.

Organized by the 1Bataan Innovation Council with the Provincial Government of Bataan and JCI-Bataan, Inc., the event gathered more than 400 participants from government, industry, academe, and the startup community.
As an advisory committee member of the 1Bataan Innovation Council, AFAB continues to champion innovation-driven investments, including startups focused on blockchain and emerging technologies. The agency is also reviewing regulatory matters related to fintech and blockchain to provide clearer guidance for enterprises interested in digital finance and other emerging sectors.
