Philippines AirAsia has commenced its flights from Clark to Tacloban, Puerto Princesa and Iloilo over the weekend.
AirAsia, voted as the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier for nine years, flew its maiden flight from Clark to Iloilo International Airport, the primary gateway to Western Visayas and Panay region, on Saturday with a send-off ceremony attended by Clark International Airport Corporation President Alexander Cauguiran and DOT Regional Director Carol Uy.
Cauguiran said that the additional flights of Air Asia Phils bring to 434 the total flights per week at CIA. Of these, 160 are regional and international flights. He added that the average daily flights number to 62.
In the Philippines, Cauguiran said, the archipelago is now connected to Clark. This airport in Mabalacat, Pampanga only had Cebu flights for its domestic service one year ago.
“Practically, Clark is now connected with almost every major cities in the country,” he said.

Clark – Puerto Princesa and Clark – Iloilo routes operate three times a week or every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday while Clark – Tacloban route is every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
AirAsia also flies to Davao, Kalibo, and Caticlan from Clark International Airport using Airbus 320s that can accommodate up to 180 passengers. Aside from Clark, AirAsia also offers flights to Iloilo, Tacloban, and Puerto Princesa from the airline’s hub in Manila, Cebu and Davao.
