CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Officials of the Alay Lakad Foundation Inc. want
to raise at least P1 million for the scholarships of poor but deserving college students.
In a recent press conference at the city hall, Alay Lakad Chairperson
Leoncio Co and Alay Lakad President Engr. Ruben Sy said they want to
raise “more funds this year so that they help more students from this
city.”
Sy disclosed that they currently have “more than 30 scholars and they
want to have more.” He added that they give P1,500 monthly to each
scholar.
The annual Alak Lakad walk for a cause will be held on November 15.
Organizers are expecting at least 5,000 to participate.
City of San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago, who hosted the press conference, vowed to support all-out the Alak Lakad and their
organizers.
“We will match the funds they raised. If they get P1 million, we will
also give P1 million for the scholarships of the students,” said
Santiago.
“Be a role model. Study well,” added Santiago on his message to the
students.
