Angeles City honors Siete Palabras with awards, incentives

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. awarded certificates of recognition on November 11, 2024, to Siete Palabras Director Jayson Gantan Pabalan and producer Nicanor Abelardo Soriano, who is also Barangay Lourdes Northwest Captain. The awards were presented during a courtesy call at the Mayor’s Office.

The short documentary Siete Palabras earned the Jury Award for Best Documentary at the International Film Festival Manhattan 2024. Both Pabalan and Soriano received a cash incentive of P25,000 from Mayor Lazatin.

The film, which explores a deeply rooted religious tradition, was commended for its storytelling and for preserving the spirit of faith and unity that characterizes Barangay Lourdes Northwest.

Through Mayor Lazatin’s initiatives, the city government continues to support artistic projects that celebrate Angeles City’s heritage, fostering future works that inspire Angeleños and showcase local talent on an international platform.
