Former Apalit, Pampanga Vice Mayor Alex Manlapaz was killed by two still unidentified suspects last Friday inside Masa Royale Resort in Barangay San Juan of the said town.
Apalit police chief, Supt. Alicuman said Manlapaz, 48, who owned the Masa Royale Resort, said the victim was killed by two suspects who pretended as a customer.
Investigation revealed that the suspects entered the resort to inquire about transacting business, when they shot Manlapaz twice on the head using a .45 caliber pistol, which resulted to his death.
Alicuman did not confirm Manlapaz’s involvement in illegal drugs but mentioned that he was not among the drug surrenderees in the said town.
The perpetrators, onboard a motorcycle, fled towards the east after the incident.
Manlapaz, Alicuman said, served as vice mayor of Apalit town in 2001 to 2004 while the late Tirso Lacanilao was mayor.
Alicuman is urging the public, particularly in the area, to cooperate for the possible identification and arrest of Manlapaz’s perpetrators.
