ARAYAT, Pampanga – The first lady of this town donated 100 wheelchairs, 32 walkers and 50 crutches to senior citizens and persons with disability (PWD) on her birthday last week.
“I never celebrated my birthday since my husband became mayor. I instead gave gifts and services to the people during my special day,” said Madeth Alejandrino, who is also an executive assistant to Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda.
She was joined by her husband, Mayor Emmamuel Alejandrino, during the granting of gifts to the PWDs and senior citizens of the town.
Madeth, who will reportedly run for mayor of Arayat in 2022, said she had also asked her friends to donate to her cause so that more people will benefit.
Madeth and the mayor, who is on his third term, awarded medical frontliners and retired barangay health workers.
They also led the distribution of assistance to Arayat folk through the community pantry express.
“We have not stopped helping people since the Covid 19 pandemic
began,” said Madeth.
