Army partners with BulSU, reservists for skills training of troops

MALOLOS CITY — Army 48th Infantry Battalion (48th IB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bulacan State University (BulSU) and 304th Bulacan Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (304th RRIBn) for the capacity building of soldiers.

48th IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Felix Emeterio Valdez said this aims to provide troops with additional knowledge on industrial technology particularly building wiring, automotive, video editing and welding.

“My appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to BulSU and 304th RRIBn for this opportunity given to us. This endeavor will pave the way to a world-class Army knowing that we have your support. Your Guardians Battalion will be forever grateful for this,” Valdez furthered.

For her part, BulSU President Cecilia Gascon emphasized the importance of the partnership in the advancement of learning and continuing education.

She directed the College of Industrial Technology dean to supervise the training with respect to the existing rules and regulations stipulated in the MOU and the Interagency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Under the MOU, 304th RRIBn will coordinate with BulSU for training tools and equipment; help provide qualified trainers; assist in supervising, monitoring and evaluation of the program since most of the reservists are instructors in Industrial Technology; and recommend measures to ensure success of the program.
