Bataan High School for the Arts to be built in Bagac

BALANGA CITY — Bataan High School for the Arts will soon be built in Bagac town with Department of Education (DepEd) and Acuzar family signing a usufruct agreement this Thursday.

It will be entered by and between the DepEd as Usufructuary represented by e Bataan Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Romeo Alip and Maria Jose Bautista, landowner and daughter of Jerry Acuzar who owns Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.

“This is by virtue of the Special Power of Attorney dated January 13, 2021 issued by DepEd Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs Alberto Escobarte in favor of SDS Alip which authorizes the latter to execute a Usufruct Agreement to utilize a portion of a parcel of land located in Poblacion, Bagac, Bataan for the establishment of the Bataan High School for the Arts,” DepEd Regional Director May Eclar disclosed.

Created by virtue of Republic Act No. 11190, it is the second specialized public high school in the Philippines offering arts-focused education after the Makiling-based Philippine High School for the Arts.

“Bataan High School for the Arts aims to develop artistically gifted and talented students by implementing a special secondary education curriculum and support programs committed to the conservation and promotion of the Filipino artistic and cultural traditions,” Eclar furthered.

It is also a Center for Arts and Design of the Senior High School Program among the 20 school divisions of Central Luzon.
