Bataan hospital follows COVID safety protocol — hospital chief

BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) stressed that it is following safety protocols as measure against the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

BGHMC Chief Glory Baltazar assured that they are in strict compliance with the protocols provided by Department of Health (DOH).

She said personnel are following safety zones set in the hospital.

“The Green Zone is where hospital personnel can enter, while the Red Zone is off limits for all because it is an isolation or critical area for COVID-19 patients only. Everyone is required to wear a surgical mask and face shield when passing the Green Zone,” she explained.

“No one can enter the Red Zone without wearing the complete personal protective equipment, and even its proper dressing and undressing procedures are carefully administered by a donning and doffing officer at all times,” she added.

Also, Baltazar noted that the hospital is strictly forbidding loitering inside its premises especially for employees who are off-duty. She said quarantine officers are assigned to ensure protocols are being followed.

Moreover, the hospital chief clarified that they are not prohibiting employees to post on social media contrary to what is being shared by netizens.

“The administration of BGHMC has only issued a reminder on responsible posting to safeguard the privacy of COVID-19 patients in accordance with the rules set by DOH and to prevent public fear since sometimes, a post not carefully thought may cause a spread of fake news,” Baltazar explained.
