Bataan hospital appeals for understanding, urges unity vs COVID-19

BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) is appealing for understanding as it continues its battle against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

BGHMC Chief Glory Baltazar called on the public to trust doctors, nurses and other medical staff who are working together to curb patients testing positive to the disease.

“Despite all this, I want to appeal for continuous understanding from my fellow Bataeños. We are not neglecting anyone inside BGHMC,” she said in a statement.

“I’ve decided to issue a statement to clarify allegations of negligence arising on social media following the tragic events at BGHMC relative with the increasing number of COVID-19 affected frontliners in our hospital,” Baltazar added

The hospital chief stated that even with 55 health workers infected with disease, the hospital remains operational and competent to handle COVID-19 cases.

Also, Baltazar asked for unity of everyone to fully win over the fight.

“We believe that through unity and cooperation, belief in each other’s strengths and talents, and a strong belief in our Creator, we will overcome these,” Baltazar furthered.
