CAMP CIRILO TOLENTINO – The Bataan Police Provincial Office headed by Police Col. Villamor Tuliao is scheduled to form a group of policemen to keep watch on major tourist spots in the province.
This was reported by Tuliao during the press briefing on Monday at this Camp after the traditional flag-raising ceremony wherein businessman Ramon Hernandez of Orion, Bataan was the guest speaker.
“Meron kaming binubuo ngayon yung Tourist Protection Unit, yung Top Cop wherein 64-strong PNP personnel will be formed para maproteksyunan yung ating mga turista at mga tourist spot dito sa Bataan,” Col. Tuliao reiterated.
The said group will look after the tourists, both local and foreign, in various tourist spots in Pilar, Bagac, Mariveles and Morong towns.
During the “Ber” months, Tuliao added, thousands of tourists flock to Bataan more particularly the Mt. Samat Shrine and beach resorts in Bagac and Morong towns, mountain resorts of Orani and the scenic spots of Mariveles.
“Tuwing ber months, most of the crimes that we encounter are crimes against properties like theft or robbery so palagi naman nakahanda ang aming security measures specially after ng pagbisita sa atin ni Pangulong Duterte sa pagbubukas ng The Bunker,” Tuliao said.
The official said their periodic police presence in all places of convergence will be beefed up and the usual “Oplan Sita and Oplan Galugad” will still be continued with the help of the LGUs executives.
Meanwhile, on the 4thanniversary of the Bahay Pagbabago, Tuliao said the President will also grace the occasion to witness the presentation of more than 5,000 “reformed” drug reformists.
“Sila yung mga nabago na at naging kapaki pakinabang na sa komunidad o lipunan habang yung iba sa kanila ay nakapag abroad na dahil sa mga skills na natutunan nila habang sila ay nasa Bahay Pagbabago,” Tuliao narrated.
The Bahay Pagbabago serves as a drug reformation center as part of the continuing efforts of local authorities to strengthen the program on drug rehabilitation. This is a joint project of the PNP, local government units and the private sector that aims to help drug reformists or “surrenderers” and drug dependents in the cities and municipalities to withdraw and recover from drug abuse.
He added that although there are no insurgency-related activities in Bataan, Tuliao said, his men are on the look-out on the reported recruitment activities of the leftist group particularly in major schools, colleges and universities of Bataan.
