Blue Taxi, e-jeepneys now serving CL

Angeles City — Residents of Angeles City and Pampanga province have lauded the entry of Blue Taxi which is expected to improve transportation in Central Luzon.   

There are currently 100 Blue Taxis deployed in the Clark Freeport Zone which are expected to serve tourists and passengers of the Clark International Airport.

The Davao-based Blue Taxi will reportedly charge a booking fee and the meter will only start once a passenger bard the taxicab. Flag down rate starts at 40 pesos.

Early November, the City of San Fernando had also rolled out the e-jeepneys that will ply the streets of the capital city.

The Department of Transportation granted provisional authority to a six units of electric jeepneys or e-jeepneys acquired by transport operator Electric Vehicle Expansion Enterprises, Inc. at the Laus Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.

E-Jeepney

The zero-emission e-jeepneys are equipped with WiFi, dash cam, CCTVs, and GPS. The base fare will be P11 for the first four kilometers, plus P1.80 for every succeeding kilometer, according to DOTr.
