Bulacan mayor unfazed by inclusion of name in new narco list

BULACAN- San Rafael town Mayor Cipriano “Goto” Violago Jr. was unperturbed his name was included again in the latest narco politician list bared by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Violago in his facebook account said: “ I was no longer surprised that my name was mentioned in the list that was released tonight. Because I know what’s behind it: our political opponent uses his connection to destroy me. From the beginning, he was the one who made the way to destroy my personality as he thought it was the key for him to become a  mayor”.

Since August 2016, Violago said that he was cleared at the Municipal Level, Provincial Level, Regional Level, to Camp Crame and other agencies and his name is subject for ‘de-listing’ but someone  blocked it in the higher office, the Office of the President.

“As I said before, I can not blame our President if he is misrepresented, because the blame is to the one who destroys me just because of personal ambition, Violago said.

A month ago, Bulacan Police provincial director  Police Colonel Chito Bersaluna when he was asked by local media here if Violago was already cleared, he said that all names listed ‘narco politician’ are not yet cleared by the PDEA.

Violago believed his inclusion in the narco list anew was politically motivated. His political rival for mayorship in San Rafael was former Police Chief Supt. Francisco Villaroman.

It was learned that San Rafael town leads the PNP’s hot spot area in the province of Bulacan particularly in the Third District after series of crimes occurred where a barangay chairman and village leaders were slain since last year.

Villaroman has served Duterte during his stint as mayor of Davao City as Consultant in Counter Terrorism and also head of Public Safety and Security Command Center.

Villaroman filed his certificate of candidacy last year because he wanted the town of San Rafael to become peaceful and a drug-free municipality.
“Radical change starts now.. I will do here in San Rafael what I did in Davao, ibabalik ko ang katahimikan ng bayang ito at iba pang pagbabago,” Villaroman said.
