CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- The provincial government recently distributed P42 million worth of bond papers to 561 public schools under the supervision of the Department of Education (DepEd) School Division of Pampanga.
This was realized to augment the limited capacity and resources of DepEd in producing self-learning modules and activity sheets for the modular learning modality of students for the third quarter of the school year.
The said amount was used for the purchase of 274,082 reams of bond papers which had been turned over by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda to DepEd SDO Pampanga.
It was funded by the provincial government through its Special Education Fund (SEF).
“Eto yung commitment ng provincial government in providing quality education despite COVID-19 pandemic,” said Governor Delta.
According to SDO Pampanga, some 337,230 students will benefit from the bond papers.
Each learner is using 20-page modules for eight subjects every week for 34 weeks. At least 10 reams of bond paper will be consumed to cover each learner’s modules for the entire year.
“Sobrang laking tulong po nito para sa 561 na eskwelahan at mga estudyante po natin. Malaking bagay po ito sa pagpiprint po ng mga self-learning modules natin,” said Engr. Edgar Domingo, Ph.D., CESO V, Pampanga schools division superintendent.
Apart from this, the provincial government also funded the education-on-air program of the department including the funding of equipment, production costs and airtime of “Super K-Teleskwela,” which is now being used as a counterpart learning modality of Kapampangan students.
“Ito po ang pinangako ni Governor Delta sa ating mga mag-aaral para maituloy ang edukasyon ng ating mga anak sa kabila ng pandemya,” said Board Member Anthony Torres, committee chair on education of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Moreover, the provincial government also shouldered the purchase of 100 risograph machines for the printing of the self-learning modules.
