CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Provincial government has allotted about PhP90 million to procure thousands of cavans of rice ready for distribution to the 505 barangays of Pampanga.
It is set to buy rice from National Food Authority (NFA) in the amount of PhP1,250 per 50 kilograms of rice.
“Procurement of low-priced rice is projected to augment the provincial government’s continuing rice aid distribution amid the spread of coronavirus disease in the country,” Governor Dennis Pineda said.
“Instead of buying imported rice, we are now in the process of purchasing rice which the NFA bought as palay from the local farmers in the province,” Pineda added.
