Government officials on Tuesday planted bamboo seedlings at the groundbreaking site of the New Clark City-National Government Administrative Center (NCC-NGAC) in Capas, Tarlac. Among those who joined include DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, DFA Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Vince Dizon.
The bamboo planting activity is an initiative of the Central Luzon Bamboo Industry Development (CLBIDP) and BCDA. The activity reiterates the government’s commitment to protecting the environment and ensuring substantial economic growth.
The 200-hectare NGAC is situated at the New Clark City in Capas and Bamban, Tarlac. Phase1A of the project involves the development of a 60-hectare land where back-up offices of various agencies will be built, and a world-class sports complex for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
The NCC is poised to become the country’s first smart, green and disaster-resilient city.
