Chan Lim exhibit goes to SM Clark, features 260 handpainted lanterns

This Chinese New Year, the Chan Lim family artists and students opened to the public an exhibit of some 260 handpainted lanterns created by 43 artists at The Event Center, SM City Clark.

“This is our second time in Pampanga and this exhibit took us two years to plan. We as a family and as a group agreed to focus on the concept of anything that flies, the hot air balloon, the parol, so we say, it has to be lanterns here in Pampanga,” Alex Chan Lim said during the press conference, Sunday.

It can be recalled last year, the said group showcased 165 masterpieces done by 45 artists at The Event Center, SM Pampanga

Lim added the event is dedicated to the late founder of SM Supermalls, Henry Sy Sr.

Present on the formal opening of the event are Chan Lim, Dr. Felix Chan Lim, Dr. Bobbi Lim, Benigno Chua and Enrique Chua Yap of Dynamic Youth, and Junias Eusebio and Jonjon San Agustin of SM Supermalls.

Chan Lim is an art institution providing painting classes to all ages with an aim to spread the art and culture of Chinese Brush Strokes.

To date, 5,750 people have participated in the free painting workshops from 32 mall exhibits all over the Philippines.

The month-long display of Chinese artistry is open to all arts enthusiasts until February 24.
