NLEX wins 16th Anvil Award

The NLEX Corporation continues to reap awards for its communication and corporate social responsibility programs, winning two trophies in the recently concluded 54th Anvil Awards held at Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.
Presented annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the Anvil Awards distinguishes public relations programs, campaigns, and tools that meet the highest PR standards.

“We are grateful and honored that our works are being recognized. These awards validate our efforts and strong commitment to provide premium customer service through relevant programs,” said NLEX Corporation Senior Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Romulo Quimbo Jr.

NLEX bagged a Gold Anvil for the NLEXpress, an external publication aimed at delivering the company’s advocacies on safe and smart driving and strengthening its linkage with regular users of NLEX-SCTEX.

The NLEXpress has been redressed to keep up with the company’s rebranding and address the customer’s rising expectations.

Focusing on fresh, appealing, and inspiring content, the new and improved NLEXpress is filled with stories ranging from company and project developments, road safety tips, travel ideas, and features on public transport and truck drivers and their companies or associations.

The tollway company’s CSR program titled “NLEX-SCTEX Basketboys- Basketball Clinics and Tournament” won a Silver Anvil for promoting wellness and basketball skills enhancement among the youths of its host communities, while also teaching road safety practices for the benefit of motorists plying the expressways.

The program has been implemented with the help of coaches and players of the NLEX Road Warriors (NRW) led by assistant coach Jojo Lastimosa. The NRW imparted their knowledge in basketball by conducting clinics to participants from different NLEX-SCTEX communities.

“Awards like these serve as ‘pat on the back’ for advancing the welfare of our customers. But more importantly, these inspire us to continue creating meaningful initiatives for NLEX-SCTEX motorists and the communities where we operate,” NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luigi Bautista noted.

To date, the NLEX Corporation has 16 Anvil awards including a Grand Anvil in 2006 for its Integrated Communication Program for the New North Luzon Expressway.
