Clark best for for aviation and logistics dev’t, says BCDA exec

The Clark Freeport Zone “is perfectly positioned to become an aviation and logistics hub” with the presence of the sprawling Clark International Airport, said an executive of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony launching the Philippine Pavilion, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Vice President for Business Development Erwin Kenneth R. Peralta pitched Clark as a choice destination for investors given its accessibility via air, sea, and land travel.

The deep-sea port of Subic and the international airport at Clark plus the modern connectivity such as SCTEX, NLEX, TPLEX, and the newly-opened Airport-New Clark City Access Road (ANAR) are pushing the further development of a seamless logistics and services hub in the Luzon Island.

“Clark is perfectly positioned to become an aviation and logistics hub, being the only special economic zone that has its own international airport,” Peralta said.

Peralta has pointed to the recent opening of ANAR which connected Clark International Airport to New Clark City all the way to North Luzon. The much-vainted North-South Commuter Railway, will also connect Clark all the way to Calamba, Laguna.

Peralta said the government is continuously improving the airside infrastructure in the Clark Civil Aviation Complex with plans to expand aprons and taxiways, and to construct a second runway in the airport.

Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) joined the inaugural Philippine Pavilion during the Singapore Airshow held last February 19 to 26, 2024.

The BCDA participated alongside the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Department of Transportation, Clark International Airport Corporation, Clark Development Corporation, Asian Business Aviation Association, and Berthaphil CRK, bringing together leading industry players to showcase the Philippine aviation sector.

The BCDA seeks to present a global and holistic development approach called “One Clark,” where all its subsidiaries provide the scale needed to ensure the whole Clark metropolis can compete with its Southeast Asian neighbors when it comes to businesses and investments.

The Singapore Airshow, Asia’s premier international aerospace and defense exhibition, offers a vital platform for industry stakeholders to build alliances and drive transformative changes globally. This biennial event attracts high-level government and military delegations, along with senior corporate executives, fostering partnerships and sealing deals within the region.
