Comelec: Voter registration for SK, barangay polls resumes in August

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Friday the resumption of voter registration for 2020 Sangguniang Kabataan and barangay elections.

Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said they are expecting over 2 million new voters.

For Sangguniang Kabataan voters aged 18, their names will automatically be transferred from the SK list of voters to the regular list of voters.

Voter registration will start on August 1 to September 30, 2019 including Saturdays and holidays.

How to Register?

1.  Bring any valid ID indicating your name and birthday to the local Comelec office or any registration sites (mall,barangay). On the absence of IDs, a PSA certified copy of your birth certificate will be accepted.

2.  Fill out three (3) identical copies of registration forms. Forms can be downloaded and printed from Comelec website www.comelec.gov.ph

3.  Have your biometrics captured. This  include your digital signature, photo and fingerprints.

4. Keep the acknowledgement stub. Please be advised that Comelec will no longer issue voter’s ID after the Malacañang announced the releasing of National ID this 2019.
