COVID-19 positive dies in Mabalacat

MABALACAT CITY – The St. Raphael Foundation and Medical Center, Inc. said a 93-year old male who tested positive for the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 died on Sunday.

In a statement, the hospital said the patient was admitted on March 19 due to moderate lower respiratory symptoms. The DOH RESU immediately conducted swabbing on the patient who tested positive on March 28. The patient from nearby Bamban, Tarlac died on the next day and was immediately cremated in Tarlac City.

The hospital said the “patient’s relatives, attending medical, nursing and other ancillary staff who were possibly exposed have been notified and requested to undergo the necessary self quarantine.”

“The hospital management and its healthcare frontliners are doing everything necessary based on DOH guidelines to prevent further transmission of the virus.”

SARS-Cov 2 is the virus that causes COVID-19 attacking the respiratory system drowning it with fluid which make patients develop pneumonia.
