The City of San Fernando received numerous awards during the ‘11th Recognition of Outstanding Central Luzon LGUs Implementing the Streamlining Program in the Issuance of Mayor’s Permit’ held today at Royce Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone.
Conferred by the Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation Incorporated (CLGCFI), the city was awarded as 2016 Most Successful LGU in the Institutionalization of BPLS Reforms; 1st place 2016 Best LGU in Customer Relations for Provincial category; and 3rd place 2016 Best LGU in Customer Relations for Regional category.
CLGCFI, in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Trade and Industry, hosted the recognition to acknowledge LGUs that implement client-friendly policies resulting to timely issuance of Mayor’s permit.
In an interview, Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago lauded the efforts of the city’s Business License and Permit Division for successfully institutionalizing BPLS reforms through ISO certification and exhibiting professionalism when transacting with the public.
“All these measures are aimed to delight and better serve our clients. Thus, encourage the growth of business and investments to attain progress in the city,” Santiago added.
Meanwhile, the city also received plaques of recognition from the National Competitiveness Council of the Philippines for being the 2nd Overall Most Competitive City in the country. Through the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index, the city was ranked 4th place in the Economic Dynamism category, 6th place in Infrastructure and 8th place in Government Efficiency.
