In a bid to build camaraderie and develop sportsmanship among youth, the City of San Fernando once again hosts an inter-collegiate game this year
The ceremonial opening was held over the weekend at the Our Lady of Fatima University-Pampanga which was led by Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago, acting Vice-Mayor Angie Hizon, Community Affairs Division Chief Engr. Jose Diaz, Jr. and personnel from all participating schools.
Eight schools and universities from in and out of the city will compete in various ball games like Basketball and Volleyball.
These are OLFU-Pampanga, University of the Assumption, Colegio de Sebastian, St. Nicolas College of Business and Technology, Central Luzon College of Science and Technology, Holy Angel University, Mabalacat City College and Jose C. Feliciano College.
Mayor Santiago said the annual sports event serves as a venue for students to showcase their athletic skills and vigour while exercising true sportsmanship.
“Our city value sports education as much as it values academic learning. May this activity inspire you to pursue your sports career and become the future pride not only of our beloved cities, but the entire country as well,” he said.
The inter-collegiate games shall finish in December. All winners will receive trophies and cash prizes from the local government.
