CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — City government of San Fernando is currently establishing facilities that will isolate, treat and monitor persons under investigation (PUI) and persons under monitoring (PUM).
These include the newly-built civic center which has 22 well-ventilated rooms.
“PUIs with mild symptoms, PUMs and whose home environment cannot support isolation can be temporarily housed for quarantine or isolation in the facility,” Mayor Edwin Santiago said.
PUIs and PUMs will be isolated there for 14 days and will be provided with food and the needed medical attention.
“A patient can be discharged from the isolation facility once asymptomatic. That patient then should practice home quarantine for another 14 days before being issued a certificate of completion of isolation by City Health Office,” Santiago explained.
Cases with signs of severe pneumonia and co-morbidities will be referred and transferred to the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital or Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Central Screening Facility in barangays Sto. Nino and Malpitic Phase 2 are continuously doing their assessment on the fever cases in the Rural Health Units to identify additional possible PUIs and PUMs.
The initiative, along with the other measures, is being taken to prevent re-infection and spread of coronavirus disease in the city of San Fernando.
“We are utilizing all of our resources to address the needed medical attention; food provision for the identified PUIs and PUMs, elderly, and indigent families; and financial assistance to the indigents and senior citizens,” Santiago furthered.
The city also conducts regular sanitation and disinfection of public roads, buildings and barangays; holds regular surveillance and monitoring; mounts tightened border control to ensure the peace and order; and perks-up security.
