BALANGA CITY – Davao City 1st District Rep. Karlo Nograles joined Bataan local officials led by Bataan 2nd District Rep. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III in the congressional barangay day held at the Activity Center of Vista Mall Bataan here.
Barangay officials from the city’s 25 villages joined Reps. Garcia and Nograles together with City Mayor Francis Garcia and other city local officials, Bataan Vice Governor Cris Garcia, Board Member Noel Valdecañas, Hermosa Vice Mayor Cris Vitug, and local newsmen.
Three thousand gift packs, others as relief goods were distributed to those who were affected by floods and heavy rains caused by typhoon Henry.
Karlo Nograles is a lawyer who found passion in public service. He believes that the government has a crucial role in ensuring that the country’s development is felt by everyone. He is now serving his third term in Congress and currently chairs the House Committee on Appropriations. Under his chairmanship, the Committee on Appropriations not only passed the 2017 and 2018 National Budgets in record time, but also ensured funding for the Free Higher Education Law. Now, students from our poor families have a chance at earning a college education.
His leadership in the committee also paved the way for the much needed salary increase of our soldiers and policemen. He is also instrumental in providing free irrigation for our farmers and promoting the establishment of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Trust Fund.
Nograles admits to Bataan crowd that he will be running for senator in next year’s mis-term elections.
