Be on top of your game with the newest summer collections perfectly tailored for any type of curves and sizes only at the SM Woman, SM City Clark Department Store.
A Summer ’17 Style Edit event emceed by Michaela Pineda and guest stylist to the artists Levenson Rodriguez was launched to empower women through fashion in celebration of Women’s Month this March.
Levenson Rodriguez, 40, a renowned Filipino fashion icon, clothier and a professor at the Institute of Creative Entrepreneurship in Shangri-La for a decade now. He has been into the fashion industry since he was 18.
The free styling event held on March 18 at the 2nd level of SM Department Store was joined by more than 20 registered mall-goers who opted to bring out their new brand of confidence by choosing their most-hated clothing design and style.
According to Rodriguez, the use of linen and crocheted cloth for a summer layer fits the trend this 2017.
“For plus size women who wish to hide bellies, follow the A-line. Now, wear loose clothing because it gives a sense of mystery of what is behind that. For skinny type, sabi nila you could get way with any clothe you want. Wear loose or fitted, bagay pa rin. But I suggest to wear sleeveless or off-shoulders to give volume to your body,” the clothier said.
The participating women were asked what is their least favored color of clothes, and it turned out to be orange.
Based on statistics, most Filipinas hate wearing the color orange due to the fact that they will look darker. Little they know, the orange color will highlight your face giving you a vibrant aura.
After the quick tour on the summer collections, the participants were given 15 minutes to pick their choice of attire and have it presented with conviction to the judges and audience.
After the quick runway event, three winners received a P 1,500 worth of gift certificate.
“The only way to know if bagay mo ang isang damit is to embrace it. Most people say hindi nila ito bagay because they have not tried wearing it,” Rodriguez emphasized.
“Explore and widen your closet. Don’t limit yourself with fashion as long as you feel good about it,” Pineda added.
