110 skilled professionals, athletes enlist for military training at TRADOC

CAPAS, Tarlac — Around 110 skilled professionals and athletes were recently welcomed by the Philippine Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) to undergo six months of rigorous military training at the School for Candidate Soldier.

They include basketball, volleyball and badminton players; marathoners; musicians; computer programmers; researchers; welders; electricians; and drivers.

TRADOC Commander Brigadier General Casiano Monilla said the six month training will equip the special enlistees with the education and skills that an individual needs in serving the country as a soldier.

“These training exercises are not designed to make trainee’s life difficult but to ensure that they will develop the discipline required of a professional soldier who obeys orders and accomplishes missions,” Monilla stressed.

“It will hone your knowledge and skills of basic soldiery and develop your competence as you prepare to be the defender of our constitution and our nation,” the official added. (CLJD/CJVF-PIA 3)
