Hopes dimmed for at least 41 patients in Pampanga province with suspected coronavirus or COVID-19 amid the failure in the timely release of test results.
One patient at Mt. Carmel Hospital in the City of San Fernando died a day before his result came out positive on March 11. Pampanga has already three confirmed cases of COVID-19.
While top government officials had themselves tested for COVID-19, those who badly need it in the provinces, may never get the chance to be tested while those tested are still awaiting for the results endlessly.
The impact of delay in reviewing test results had been affecting the work of government health providers in the province.
In an interview aired over DZMM, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda said: “Namomoroblema po kami sa result ngayon. Ang tagal ng balik” referring to the COVID-19 test results.” “OK naman po yung response ng mga iba.”
He said the load of work at the DOH may be affecting the release of the test results. “Siguro sa volume na din po (ng trabaho) ng DOH kung kaya hindi kaagad mailabas.”
