ANGELES CITY – Gov. Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda will bring health and medical services closer to the people by introducing “telemedicine”.
The Governor, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), wants to push for a quick response and diagnosis with the help of the said technology.
Telemedicine is a state-of-the-art medical facility which allows patients to consult medical specialists thru two-way video conferencing.
It is also a remote delivery of healthcare services that enables healthcare providers to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients using common technology, without the need for an in-person visit.
At the time of writing, while the installation is ongoing, the Governor is now looking for a high-speed internet provider to avoid any hassles while remote video consultation is taking place.
Recently, Dr. Marcelo Jaochico, PHO head, facilitated the pilot-testing of telemedicine at Ricardo P. Rodrigues District Hospital – Annex in Bacolor town.
The PHO head explained that the new facility will help reach those people who live in remote areas.
“Sa pamamagitan nito, ‘yung mga pasyente natin na mahihirap na nasa malalayong lugar ay mabibigyan ng libre at mas pinagandang serbisyo ng ating mga ospital na mina-manage ng Kapitolyo ng Pampanga,” he said.
In today’ s fast-paced world, Jaochico added, telemedicine will be a bridge between primary health providers and specialists to communicate about their patients’ medical data instantly.
“‘Yung purpose niya talaga is to improve the quality of health care, and to have a good management for every patient,” he mentioned.#
